Three Motivations

It has been an eventful year and I am looking forward to continuing the upward trend with the New Year. In the last few months, three of the new pieces I created are being enjoyed by art collectors. What is interesting about each of the paintings is that they came from different motivations.

Motivation: Organic

A twelve by twelve inch painting entitled MY HAPPY PLACE, has found wall space in a home in Ocean Park, B.C. I painted it in the early summer on a day where I was feeling particularly centered and peaceful.

Motivation: Themed

One of my recent high contrast black and white works of art, is now with a collector  residing in Summerland, B.C. SIMPLY PUT as it called came about as a challenge to create art for a themed exhibition. I am happy it was successful. Initially I was not certain the dark colour would appeal to me.

Motivation: Commissioned

My challenge was the commissioned 36 x 30 for an art collector and art lover with specific wishes and requests to match her vision. I am very pleased CHERYL’S SONG was welcomed with open arms into the South Surrey home. Not only did I pour my heart into this painting as I do with all “my children”, I gathered a bit of Cheryl’s soul into it as well through my meditation process.
